CELO Buyback
Under CELOccelerate (CGP-233), Celo L2 sequencer revenue, after the core protocol operating costs the proposal names (OP Stack, EigenDA, Succinct and, while applicable, carbon offsets), is used to acquire CELO for the Community Fund, where CELO holders govern its use (which may include burning). Figures are estimates computed from gross daily fee P&L, the same data as the operator distribution report, not settled amounts; actual transfers to the Community Fund are executed in periodic batches. Totals leave out earlier revenue, which was already returned to the Community Fund in a single transfer of 1,748,950 CELO (see CGP-234).
How these figures are computed
- CGP-233 deducts the core protocol operating costs first (OP Stack, EigenDA, Succinct and, while applicable, carbon offsets) and fixes no amounts. The figures here follow the operator tooling: L1 posting costs, the OP Stack contribution and the Carbon Fund share. Succinct proving costs are not in the Dune data and are not deducted.
- Revenue is CELO fees plus stablecoin fees at their USD peg, with EURm at Dune's forex price; COPm is left out.
- L1 costs are the batcher, proposer, challenger and EigenDA costs, paid in ETH and valued at the day's price.
- The OP Stack contribution (the OP Superchain share) is estimated as the greater of 2.5% of fees and 15% of fees after L1 costs, the formula of Optimism's Standard Rollup Charter; the chain's own terms are not published.
- The Carbon Fund fraction is 0% since CGP-236; the one-off share of 24,086.79 CELO / 2,017.75 USD taken on 2026-04-20 is deducted.
- Revenue up to 2026-04-08 was already returned to the Community Fund (CGP-234) and is not counted.
- USD and CELO are converted per day, at that day's CELO price.
- The average CELO price is volume-weighted: USD accrued divided by CELO accrued.
